myMile Adds Free Online Fuel Optimization To Aid Truckers As Diesel Prices Soar

Bloomfield, CT -- January 27, 2000 -- The trucking industry closed out the year 1999 with a 34% increase in diesel fuel prices. In response to this, mile.com, the first transportation industry website to offer free commercial mileage and routing, has further expanded its offerings to include free on-line fuel purchase optimization. FuelLogic uses Prophesy's mileage program to select the proper route, it then selects all the truckstops en route and through price and location analysis, recommends the refueling stops that should be used. This free service is found in the myMile section of the web site.

Use of the fuel purchase optimization program can reduce overall fuel costs by an average of 8-to-10%. This is important in a day when fuel prices can exceed two dollars per gallon.

As in the award-winning FuelLogic Software Package, the on-line FuelLogic user can specify such details as tank capacity, minimum ending fuel level, average miles per gallon, and minimum purchase.

"Online FuelLogic is badly needed by the industry. We all know that prices have gone up, but the guy on the road needs help to pick the truckstop that gives him the best deal," says Prophesy President Edward J. Forman. "With this service, we help the trucker and the truckstop operator who is fair, and we think that is a good service."
