1. Why am I getting the message "The PDF file could not be created correctly. You may not have the required drivers installed on your system." when I try to create a PDF from a Prophesy Report?

This message indicates that the required Ghostscript component is missing on this computer and should be installed by clicking the Get Ghostscript Button below. For detailed instructions on completing the download and install, click here.

2. What is Ghostscript and where can I download it?

Most Prophesy customers can download and install Ghostscript directly from SourceForge.net.

GPL Ghostscript is a freely available software package that converts and interprets PostScript™ language files and Portable Document Format (PDF) files. Links to current download mirror sites, documentation and other details can be found at http://www.ghostscript.com/awki.

3. I have installed Ghostscript, but I still am not able to save reports to PDF.

Prophesy should automatically create and configure a PostScript Printer for you called Sybase DataWindow PS the first time you attempt to save a report as PDF. If not, follow the following instructions to manually configure this printer:

1. Open your Printers and Faxes Control Panel (Start > Printers and Faxes OR Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes.) and click Add Printer to open the Add Printer Wizard.

2. You will install a local printer using the FILE: (Print to File) Port.

3. When you are prompted to select a Printer, choose Have Disk and Browse to the C:\Program Files\Prophesy\Client\System\Drivers folder and select the ADIST5.INF file. Choose the Acrobat Distiller printer, and name the printer as Sybase DataWindow PS. It should not be your default printer, nor should you share the printer, and it is not necessary to print a test page.
