Meyers Bros. Trucking, located in Pioneer, Ohio, was founded by Craig Meyers and Dustin Meyers in 2003. At that time, the company had only one employee and one truck. Dustin started off delivering building materials and home improvement products for a local Menards store, to customers that were unable to transport the items themselves.A year later, Craig began driving for the company and from there the business continued to expand. Meyers Bros. Trucking is now a family owned and operated regional truckload carrier. The company provides a wide range of services including van, curtain-side, flatbed, covered wagon, dry bulk, job-site deliveries, dump, oversize/wide loads and heavy haul.

Prior to purchasing a dispatch system, the Meyers Bros. staff used a combination of written and memory-based methods. Dustin knew that he had to start looking for dispatch software if the company was going to keep growing. Having previously learned of the Prophesy Dispatch trucking software system through a mail advertisement, Dustin decided to inquire. He also looked at several competitive solutions but found that nothing matched up to what Prophesy had to offer.

The Meyers brothers viewed a demonstration of Prophesy Dispatch with National Sales Representative Jay Votzakis. They were so impressed with the demonstration that they quickly chose the Prophesy Solution to run their business going forward.

"Items that factored into our purchase of Prophesy Dispatch were price, efficiency, and the availability of additional system options," said Dustin. He was pleased to see that his company could build additional modules onto the Prophesy system at their own pace. He explained, "I was excited to learn that we could add on to the system as our company grew, giving us time to get used to each piece."

Dustin and Craig attended phone- and Internet-based software instruction with Training and Implementation Consultant Steve Knauber. After completing the training course, the brothers were ready to train their own staff and put the software to use immediately. "Steve is very helpful and fun," said Dustin. "He did a great job getting us started with the software and he has always had solutions to any issues that we’ve struggled with."

The implementation of the Prophesy system was completed in-house by the Meyers brothers. After only a brief run-through of the software, the dispatchers were able to create loads and assign drivers and then became comfortable with more advanced tasks. Now fully up and running, they began to see numerous operational improvements thanks to the increased automation and efficiency provided by the Prophesy software.

Since its founding, Meyers Bros. Trucking has grown to a twenty truck operation, servicing areas east of the Mississippi River with a concentration in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania. The company also has Canadian Authority.

Meyers Bros. currently uses Prophesy Dispatch equipped with an interface to their Quickbooks Pro accounting software. The company also uses additional Prophesy modules for commercial mileage and routing, driver management, and fuel tax reporting, as well as multi-company and brokerage add-ons.

"The Prophesy system was definitely a worthwhile investment," said Dustin. "It has been a huge help to our dispatching and accounting operations and has made the business more efficient overall."

Moving forward, the owners of Meyers Bros. Trucking know that Prophesy Dispatch will continue to help their company grow. With additional Prophesy tools they hope to automate more processes and make the company even more streamlined. They are currently looking at TrackerDispatch, the Prophesy Dispatch-integrated fleet tracking module, to communicate with the Sprint®-Nextel® phones located in all of their company trucks. They are also considering Prophesy’s fleet maintenance software, FleetTrax Premier, to help them track and monitor repairs and routine maintenance of their vehicles.
